Would you use the same washing cloth to clean the dog and cat bowl and your dishes?
My mother-in-law saw me in the kitchen cleaning the dog and cat bowl and she got very upset because she said I cannot use the same wash cloth to clean human dishes with animal dishes. Do you agree? I don’t see anything wrong with it. My pets don’t have dangerous diseases. And besides, soap is a disinfectant.
I guess your mother-in-law wouldn’t appreciate seeing me put the fork in the dog’s mouth and then putting it in my own…or seeing my cat’s head buried in my dinner plate on the coffee table while we watch CSI and eat dinner either?! Yeah, maybe people without pets think it’s disgusting. More than one person has told me just that. I suggest as politely as possible that maybe they shouldn’t come over if they feel that way.
She’s you mother-in-law and chances are she’s going to find fault with you in any way possible. I have a bit of a problem with that if this is YOUR house. My own mother doesn’t tell me what to do in my own house.
You do it any way you see fit honey. There are lots of us out here standing right at the sink with you doing precisely the same thing and we’re not sick or dying from it either. I’d invite her for dinner and purposely wash the dog’s bowl and then HER PLATE with the same wash cloth. That’s just how I am.
